In return for my questions I have a possible tip:

Celeste Lux mentioned headbands slipping off. I have read bow-making hair clip tutorials that suggest for children with fine hair, one wau to keep the clip from slipping is to glue somthing to the side of the clip that touches the hair.

Materials suggested are some of that rubbery bubbly-mesh stuff people line their shelves
