So, as I mentioned in my previous post, I haven't been sewing much. I have been knitting and crocheting, and getting tangled up in all sorts of craft related projects.
For instance, I found out that crocheted dishcloths work really well as dishcloths!!!
***** sounds of crickets
Oh, I knew they worked well as part of baby blankets and other projects, but I did not realize how well they can be used to wash dishes. Silly me. So, I've been churning these babies up. No more sponges for me. At the end of the day, I just toss as used dishcloth into the laundry pile and set out a clean dishcloth for the next day. No more suspicious sponges!
I also found some good use for the little ends of yarn in my yarn pile. I take the yarn and very carefully glue them on to Styrofoam balls. These are slightly smaller than tennis balls, but they work out perfectly. Honestly, I tried making yarn balls with balloons inside and popping the balloon, but I found the process too messy. There is something meditative about twirling yarn around and around, and dabbing bits of glue on in the process. As you can see, I really liked doing the project. I only stopped because I ran out of Styrofoam balls.

There's some twine in there too, as you can see.
I liked the process of lining up yarn so much that I wrapped a used canvas frame (it was a craft fail), with yarn. And then more yarn. And more!
The only reason I stopped was because I ran out of glue. True story. So sad.
I'm now using the canvas as a photo holder.
Oh, I got the idea for the simple twine flower from here.
Finally, forgive my rambling post today, but I saw this on pinterest tonight, and jumped on it right away.
This bunch of green onions has been slowly wilting in my fridge. I couldn't quite finish it up fast enough. So, if this bunch grows new greens, I'll be pretty pleased.

P.S. - Make sure you soak only the white parts
