Hide your Wood Furniture. She comes armed with a Paint Brush!

Sorry for being so scarce lately! I had thought that I wouldn't be doing much gardening this year, because I will be moving into a new house in about a month or so. However, I just couldn't bring myself to let the weeds grow. So, like a good gardener, I have been working the garden like it is still my own. Besides, there is something about spring that makes me want to be outside all the time!

Back to the topic at hand, I'm a little addicted to the power of paint. This tired rocking chair was a gift from my father-in-law. It's very old and even though you can't see it in the picture above, quite a bit of the finish is scuffed off.

A lot of elbow grease went into sanding the chair down, but after three coats of paint, I ended up with a delightful chair.

Isn't she gorgeous? It is amazing what a little paint can do!

Anyway, there is a little seat cushion that comes with the chair, and I am going to make a little cover for it.

I got some leftover fabric from a secret project*, and decided to remember the project by using one of the fabric for the seat. However, I can't make up my mind. Which is your favorite?

Thanks for helping me out!

*Not really a secret. I'll tell you about it if you email me :)

I like the black or the red, but I think it really depends on the decor of the room it's for. Good luck- and wow! You must have put a lot of work into that! It looks great!

@kate -thanks. It was a lot more work than I thought as painting the back of the chair was a lot more tedious than painting a flat surface. I love how it turned out, though. There are 4 of us in the house, and we each like a different fabric. Heh.... we're still debating.
