I got the idea when I was pruning my plants.
We fixed some leaves, using double sided tape:
Starting dabbing paint around the edges of the leaves:
After a LOT of mess (and fun).....
My girls got really excited each time we lifted the leaves to see the outline taking shape!
On a more personal note, I have been occupied with cleaning and decluttering the house. This is because we are going to put the house up for sale. It will be in the market some time tomorrow or the day after.
We are hoping to sell this house so that we can move into a new house. It is in the same city, but it will be a new house, in a new area. While I love this house , it is time to move on. After all, we have spent over 10 years in this same house. Sometimes I'm uncomfortable and a little nervous about selling and moving. Luckily, most of the time, it feels like a really good decision.
As you can imagine, all these things have been keeping me very busy. I do think about blogging a lot, but I spend most of my free time reading other peoples' blogs instead :)
I hope you'll bear with me through this personal transition period!

Love the leaves...and good luck with the sale!!!!
Su, You are such a fun and awesome Mom! I bet the girls had a great time!
I feel for you in the moving on department. We have been in our house for 9 years. We still love it- but now our reasons for loving it are largely due to the wonderful memories and not so much the house itself. We've outgrown it, and it's time to move on (if we ever get the time...)
Anyway, I've been trying to declutter and streamline our belongings so that when the oportunity arises, we're totally ready! I bet I'm not your only fan who would LOVE to hear your tips for this process (not nesessarily Now, just whenever you have time, like after your move). Just a thought.
Good luck with it all!
These look so cool! Good luck with all your move-related tasks!
Love the pictures! I should try it with my two little monkeys. :)
Sheesh, here I was hoping you were selling your house to come back home (here). Good luck with the sale! Have you found a new house yet?
@kate - Thanks.
Sometimes, I feel guilty about leaving this place, you know. For two years now, it has been, "Do we really need to move? Can't we make do with this space? It's such a nice house and good neighbourhood. We could pour more money into it to make it ideal."
Finally, we decided that we shouldn't stagnate. It was either remodel/repair, which would cost a lot, or move, which would cost a lot too :)
But thanks for the idea. I may blog a little bit more about the moving process as I go along.
Good luck with the home sale & upcoming move!
Sewing hiatus but not art(mess haha)-making hiatus, I see.
I feel like doing that to one of our walls but the landlord will kill me. Haha. Have fun moving!
what a great idea! sometimes being messy is just what we need.
