Pattern Review: Butterick 6062 Dress

Poor 1990s. Not cool and old enough to be retro. Not hippy enough to be 70s, not bad enough to be 80s. Just so very 'blah'. So yesterday.
I dug out this pattern from 90s. I believe that it was one of the very first few patterns I ever attempted to sew.
How very Milk Maid, eh?

Made me want to tie my hair in braids, carry a basket of flowers and wade through fields of dandelion and buttercups.

Underneath all that, there hid a great basic dress.

Pattern Description:
Lined dress, fitted bodice, partial drawstring neckline, raised waist, A-line skirt, back zipper

Pattern Sizing:
6-8-10

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except I left out the drawstring and the gathered sleeves.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. I only used the instructions as a reference for this project since I changed so much of it
I looked through it and it seemed straight-forward enough. I remember using this as a beginner and was really nervous with the lining part. I'm not sure if a beginner sewer should attempt lined dresses. Maybe that was just me.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Very flattering dress for petite, pear-shaped body.
Lining the dress is so complicated. Why can't pattern companies write alternative instructions for unlined dresses?

Fabric Used:
Poly knit. I think I spent $0.75 a meter on this fabric. I meant to use it as a toile. (Aha! I learned that in North America, toile and muslin is used interchangeably, but apparently, toile is the right word to use).

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
1)The pattern is not for knit, and since I did use knit, I decided to forgo the use of a zipper in the back.
2)As previously mentioned, I did not line the dress. Thus, I had to create an extra band to finish around the neckline.
3)No drawstring in the front; too fussy. I just used an elastic.
4)No gathered sleeves. My biceps are quite large compared to the rest of my frame, and gathered sleeves are quite uncomfortable.
5) I made the petite version, and still had to cut off 2 inches to fit my short 5'1".

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew this again with better fabric.
I would recommend this pattern. Don't judge a pattern by the photo :)

Conclusion:
Nice dress, good shaping - timeless style. Right? Right? Hahahaha

I think the dress is really sweet! It would be lovely in a nice light cotton, lined. Oooh...see, you just INSPIRE me. It's too easy to make dresses for little girls - they've got no curves! I should figure out how to make dresses for ME.
