Sewing Break - Pick up a brush

I decided that I should tear myself away from the sewing machine.
So, this is what I did:

What?
You mean, you can't tell that I painted the door?
Well, I painted it white, and I still need to put on one more layer of paint.
White, as opposed to beige. It looked strange being beige, since the trim is white.
I'm going around the house painting all the interior doors white.
You don't have to tell me, I know I'm odd. :)

I'm also testing out a new shade for my living room/dining room.
This is how it looks now:

I actually like the paint, but it has a sandpaper texture. It is one of those designer paints that is so beautiful, but quite impractical when you have small children running around leaving marks on the walls. I love the deep brown too, but I have a really small house, so the brown makes the whole place look smaller than it really is.

Shh.... don't tell anyone. Pull back that couch, and you get:

*giggles*
Ahh, I'm a crazy one. Now you know.
That's "Mushroom Cap" by Dulux. I like it, but I'm afraid that my room will now look.... TAUPE. As in, boring! Taupe floor, taupe walls. Oooh.... I don't know.....
I may pick up a darker shade and paint it on that white spot to see it it is better to go slightly darker on the walls.

Haha :) We didn't even hide our swatches behind furniture- there are huge splashes of various colors throughout the house, on "trial" if you will :) You know, if you have an all-neutral living room you can add LOADS of color with accents (pillows and lampshades?) and it will still look fabulous, and you can change out the accents by season. So fun!

Must be the week for painting! Hubs painted a wall in our (very very very white all over white every indoor wall white house) living room green this weekend. I love it!

Myrnie:: I'm just worried that one year from now I'm going to have trial colors on the wall, that's why I'm hiding the swatches. Maybe a color behind the painting too?? lol
But good point about accents! That does sound fun, thanks!

Aunt LoLo:: Not that there's anything wrong with white, but it's nice to have a change!
