This is my first time making pants. I chose this pattern because it does not have any pockets.

Pattern Description:
Pants - loose fitting. Sits about 2" under natural waist. I made view B. It's the pants with carrier loops, so that I can use a belt with this pants.
Pattern Sizing:
Misses size 8-18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, although there is user error, not a problem with the pattern. If you look at the pants, you will notice that I have some puckering along the pant seams. I guess that I should have paid more attention to the tension. Maybe some ironing will help
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. No problems
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the style of the pants. It's very comfortable.
However, I can't believe the sizing of this pattern.
If I were to follow my measurements, I would be between the size 14 and size 16. However, if you look at the finished garment measurements, you'll see that there is a LOT of ease. Since this was a test of the pattern, I took a chance and made a size 8 (!!). I figured that if it was too small, I would just give it to my sister.
As you can see from my photo, the pants actually fit really well. Not at all tight.
Fabric Used:
Actually, I don't know what this fabric is. I got it from the sale bin, because I wanted to try out the pattern. It's probably has some poly in it. There is no stretch to it, and it doesn't crumple easily.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
Just shortening the pants significantly. I took off about 2 inches. I'm 5' 1". This left me with pants that are still quite long, but I wanted to wear it with heels. If you look at the photo. I'm posing on tip toes :)
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes. It's easy, and it turns out wonderfully.
Conclusion:
I guess after all that grumbling about the sizing, I just wanted to say again that if you are going to make this pants, you may want to make your sizing decision based on the finished garment measurements instead of your actual sizing.

Lookin good! The pants are really nice!
I haven't been brave enough to try much sewing for myself yet.
I just popped over here from Wardrobe Refashion to say those a fabulous and read your pattern review. I have that same pattern, purchased it before I realized I don't understand patterns. I guess I should pull it out again and try to figure out if it makes sense to me yet.
Thanks for the sizing tip.
Those are cute! I'm going to have to get that pattern.
Thank you very much, ladies. I really wasn't quite sure about making pants. I think I'm a little bit more at ease now.
Not sure about pants with pockets, though.
Baby steps, I guess!
Fabulous pants! I have a hard time finding pants that fit, and have never mustered the courage to sew some for myself...perhaps I should try!
Thanks for your comment on my scalloped girly stuff. I'm happy with the way they turned out, but I can assure you that mistakes were made. Either way, Girly Girl loves it, and that's what counts, right?
