Kids's Craft: Kirigami for St. Paddy's

You've probably heard of Origami, right? Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding.

Kirigami is like Origami, only you can make cuts in the paper. Let me tell you, there are some ornate stuff out there, but it doesn't have to be like that.

Hey, my husband has some Irish in him. I'll take that as a license to celebrate St Patrick's Day too. Just call me "Chirish".

Let us make an Irish Hat, with a clover in the middle.

1)Start with a green A4 paper, long side folded in half:
2) Cut along the black line as shown, on the unfolded side:

3) Next, cut along the black line to form the rim of the hat:
4) Cut a slot to fit the head
5) Draw a clover in the middle (um, do a better job than I did in this picture), careful not to cut out where there is no ink! We want to keep the clover attached top the hat.6) Now, fold the clover leave's crease the the opposite direction. Do the same with the bottom rim of the 'hat'. You are done!!!

Caley from FaveCrafts sent me a link for a free St Patrick's Day ebook. I just glanced at it, and it's full of crafts, gifts and recipes. I'm not affiliated with them, but I thought that the book is a great resource. Here is the link.
Have fun!

Thank you!
Yes, I'm Chinese (although 3 or 4 generations removed from China). Everywhere I go in Asia, I get spoken to as though I'm a local. So, it's all good!
