Everytime I vow to finish this crochet project, something comes along to derail my good intentions.
So, what is it this time? Well, back in November, I hurt my right wrist playing the Wii. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is a combination of Wii misdeeds, practising the Crow Pose, and some crocheting of little girls' hats. I mainly blame the Wii though! Who knew Star Wars: Force Unleash could be so addictive? Must be the some sort of subconscious desire to wield the light saber. Who am I kidding? It's a conscious desire.
Ahem, back to crochet. The original project was supposed to be a long wrap about 20"x60" of double crochet stitches. It was going to be glorious!! However, due to *ahem* injuries, and not wanting to aggravate the wrist, I decided to stop the project at 20"x 30". I can do small crochet projects like flowers, but repeated the repeated movements of making a wrap will definitely impede the healing of that wrist.
Here's what I did, in lieu of a full wrap. I took one long end of the piece, and folded it over asymmetrically, and secured it with a crochet flower. A little bit rock and roll, and a little bit country:

Here's why it's vintage. I bought the angora/orlon yarn through ebay at a ridiculously low price, and that person got the yarn at an estate sale. Anyway, it's lovely, look at it:
