Sew or Make your own Storage Boxes

Storage Boxes that HIDES the MESS!!
(It's holding playmobil and polly pockets and looks a lot better than it did before)

I'm guessing that I'm not the only one thinking of organizing at this time of the year. Well.... actually I think I'm a little behind everyone else when it comes to purging and organizing their things. I call it my winter lethargy. Anyway, I've been looking for a cost-effective storage solution to store my kids bits and pieces of toys.

I've been scouring the web looking for good box making tutorials, and boy, am I ever impressed. There are tons of good instructions out there. There are many different fabric boxes that you can make, although as you can imagine, most require you to use thick interfacing. This is great, and the results are AMAZING. However, I'm too lazy to run off to the fabric store to buy interfacing. Another reason is that buying interfacing defeats the purpose of a cost-effective storage solution.

I did get some good links, so you may want to check it out:

I enjoyed making the last one, although because my kids are the ones using the boxes, I had to make sure there are no exposed pieces for them to pull off. Thus, in the end, I made a version of the Cut Out + Keep boxes.

I wanted to post some pictures of the box construction today, but I have little one who has an ear-infection. She needs a lot of kisses and cuddles. Everything else gets dropped when a child falls ill, doesn't it? Catch up with the blogging world tomorrow!
