Valentine your Skirt - easy Applique

or dress, or shirt, or pants, or hat.... you get the idea!

It's very easy to add a little interest to a plain piece of clothing, with a little bit of felt and some embroidery thread.

If you don't have a sewing machine, you can use blanket stitch to attach you appliques:

You don't really need an embroidery hoop. All you need is some thread and needle:

Voila! A cute skirt for Valentine's Day. (Or any day, really... we wear hearts all year round at our house)

Wasn't that easy?
Do get super-creative! And don't forget to email me links of your work! :)

@Art - if you are talking about the length of the skirt, we like to cover our knees, so I usually make the skirt (blue portion) about 10-12" long, and add ruffles to desired length.
