I love the plaid pattern on the fabric of this skirt. The skirt still fits well and I used to wear it to the office all the time. However, I am no longer going to the office, am I? It has been 4 years since I've worn this skirt, and I still have not been able to donate it to charity. I decided that this skirt will the first one I reconstruct.

With some complimentary fabric and bias tape, I was able to make this dress, beautifully modeled here:

If I were less lazy, I would have ripped that middle seam to line up the plaid pattern. However, I left it, because I'm lazy like that. Doesn't bother me in the least.
Another thing is that bias tape always reinforces the fact that I can't sew straight to save my life. Don't look too closely! However, the end result still is,
pretty...

I had never considered how much easier it would be to add the bottom ruffle before sewing the pieces together!
