I should consider myself lucky that I have had more successes than failures.
This is what happens when I switch horses mid-stream. Did I say that correctly? Probably not, but you know what I mean. My husband has to correct my idioms because I'm always mixing them up.
I took a really bright t-shirt, and started cutting it up. It's a really cool shirt with "Brazil" on the front. It would not have suited my husband, and was way to big for me. I had wanted to refashion it into a dress for my daughter.

As you can see, I started cutting up the sides and sleeves. I kept the bottom strip to make a ruffled bottom.
Halfway through, we did a quick fitting, and I realized that it was much to big for my daughter - and it looked like I took a t-shirt and tried to pass it off as a girl's dress. Gah!
So, I tried it on, and it seemed to fit me fine. I thought that perhaps it would make great yoga wear. However, it was very loose at the waist and looked rather unflattering. So....! I had a bright idea to add elastic to the seam of the ruffled band and the top of the shirt. This way, when I'm doing downward dog, I would not be flashing everyone.
This was the result:

Well, it did not look all that great. (Do I look uncomfortable, or what?!) And, it is too tight around the chest and shoulders; not good for yoga!
Sigh....
I hope to salvage this by making this into a summer dress for my daughter. Maybe sleeveless. Switching horses again :)
