Well, we've certainly been busy around here, what with Chinese New Year and all that. However, my girls still wanted to craft. They love their crafting days, and I love doing it with them. Everyone's happy.
The girls and I decided that we needed to do a quick craft using our old calendar; we couldn't bear to recycle it! It is a beautiful calendar of Inuit Art, wonderfully colorful and quirky.
The girls did most of the work. I helped with a little bit of the cutting, and with the hole punch.
Back of the calendar:

Glueing two strips together:

Now their dad won't be using old receipts as bookmarks anymore, and we get to look at the pretty art for years to come. That is, if they will let him use them.
Now, what am I going to do with the rest of the calendar? Hmmm.....

Oh that's a great idea! Easy and satisfying. I'll be linking to this in an upcoming Kids Craft Roundup. Thanks for the great idea!
cute, tfs- I've always wanted to use the "preview" of the calendar as Artwork for a Barbie house, but alas, my daughter doesn't have enough interest in Barbies *quite* yet to warrant getting a barbie house.
that's awesome! i scored 3 dozen old calendars off of freecycle, and have no idea how to use them all up!
craftwithme - Miniature artwork...awesome idea!
Aunt Lolo - calendars are so pretty! It's a shame to see them in the recycle bin, isn't it? Glad you can find a way to use them.
Thank-you! great idea!
