Now that I am living in Canada, my lips need all the moisture help it can get. I must tell you, I am always losing them! I'm onto lip balm number 973. Well, that's an exaggeration, but I'm sure not by much.
I've always known that a lip balm holder would solve the problem. I need a lip balm holder, and I will make one.
So last night, as my husband and his best buddy forced me to watch Death Race, I stealth hand-sewed this lip balm holder.
(Death Race is a testosterone filled, violent movie about convicts that race cars while trying to kill one another. Seriously. I'm not kidding. The only reason I sat through it was because I was sewing at the same time. That, and watching Jason Statham. He's pretty hot. Ahem, I digress. Back to the regularly scheduled program.)
This is the lip balm holder. I used a swivel clip because I like to hook it onto my hand bag.

I couldn't take a good picture, so I drew you a diagram:

I hope that was clear enough. It was hard taking pictures while watching the movie without getting odd looks from the two guys. Feel free to email me any questions, or ask me to clarify something via the comments.

What a cool idea! I am addicted to lip balm also. My husband bought me about four of my favorite and put them in my stocking for Christas because I can never keep up w/ them. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome, Heather!
I've been using the same lip balm since making the lip balm holder. I may even finish it up - that will be a first!
This is a great Valentine gift idea for girls! I have seven kids, five of them girls ages 5 to 17 and I am forever buying lip smacks, and other avarieties (love the new Avon Naturals). I might play around with making the Bonnie Bell big bomber sized lip balms too. They are great for littler girls. Thanks for the idea! I hope you keep your lip balms safe and sound more often now!
