I signed up for Wardrobe Refashion

I went ahead and signed up for 2 months of Wardrobe Refashion:

The Pledge

I, Su Ng, pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of "new" manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 2 months. I pledge that i shall refashion, renovate, recycle preloved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovoted, recycled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that thy thriftiness brings! Signed, Su.

Seriously Folks, this will kick my derriere into action. I have several articles in my closet that I have not been able to give away because they have some sentimental value. Some of these items are over 10 years old, and I probably haven't worn them for about as long too. Oh the shame!
I know, I know.... only 2 months? Baby steps, baby steps. I think if I can hold off shopping for January and February, I'll be able to delude myself into resigning again when the time comes.

What's lined up for refashion, in no particular order:

1) A green tunic that my dear (and immensely talented) mum made for me when I first joined the work force. It's really nice, but it doesn't fit well anymore, and makes me look like "The China Doll". Erm, no thanks.
2) An ill-fitting sleeveless tunic also made by mum.
3) Making dresses for my girls. Somehow, I will find the fabric to churn up some dresses. My girls are in the dress phase. Who knows how long this will last? I will take full advantage!
4) PJs baggy shorts for my husband. This one should be doable too.

Well, this will be exciting!

I better get cracking, eh?

Maybe one or more of your tunics could be easily made into dresses for your girls? Good luck!

I need luck.. haha!
I found a few more items kicking around in my closet that I have not worn in a few years; they should make great material for the girls' dresses. I think that will be my first official refashion.
