Giving the Foyer Light Fixture a Face Lift

I'm going to bore you to death with my home improvement stuff, I just know it!
However, it's one of the things that I really get a big kick out of.

Anyway, look what difference it make to the entrance of our house, with a simple changing the light fixture.

If you are interested:

Presenting, the old light fixture. Nothing to brag about, pretty standard builder-installed light fixtures from the mid-90s:

I wasn't about to buy another light fixture, but we had this older but perfectly good fixture from the basement. (The basement light had been replaced with white florescent tubes some time ago, to increase the amount of light).
The only thing 'wrong' with it was the silver sheen on it. It did not match with the rest of the main floor. When I told my sister that it did not match, she rolled her eyes at me. "What?!? It's true!", I rolled my eyes back at her. Hmmmmph! Nice.... :)

Anyway, I spray painted it with some old spray paint I had. I think it's brushed nickle or chrome, something like that. (Yeah, I know that I used xmas wrapping paper to cover the parts I did not want spray... don't laugh!)

Here's how it looks now.
Much better!
