Cake Transfer (Decorating) for the Inept.

I am totally an idiot when it comes to cake decorating. Forget fancy flowers and pretty borders... I'm absolutely clueless. However, I can do cake transfers.

You could choose to pop the ouline in the freezer for 10 mins so that you can apply the colored icing without disturbing the outline

This is the final product. Feefee wanted colored sugar sprinkles, so I put some on the cake even though I think it would have looked better without. I think it is OK, but I did not do as great a job as I could have. I was rushing it a little, and I think if I had put on the colored icing on top of the outline, less of the outline would have fallen off.
However, she's is not picky (that goodness) and she loved loved loved her cake. That's all that mattered in the end.


When she turned 3, I made her a Dora cake using the same method. Turned out slightly better.

Su, I love reading your posts because you always teach me some new (to me) and interesting method of doing something!

BTW, I hear your voice in my head while reading your posts, like when they do a scene narration cutaway in movies. :-)
